LOCATION:Bert Adams Scout Reservation

DTEND:20081026T120000
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Scouting has a continuing commitment to encourage moral, ethical, and spiritual growth. In the Oath, "Duty to God" reminds everyone that a Scout is reverent.\n\n\n\nThe Boy Scouts of America is a nonsectarian organization advocating a devout belief in deity. Article IX, Section 1, Clause 1 in the Charter and Bylaws states in part, "The Boy Scouts of America maintains that no boy can grow into the best kind of citizen without recognizing an obligation to God." Youth and adult leaders are encouraged to be faithful in their religious duties.\n\n\n\n\n\n[Informational Flyer and Registration Form](http://www.atlantabsa.org/openrosters/DocDownload.asp?orgkey=1456&id=45597)\n\n\n\nThe Scout Law teaches, "A Scout is reverent." A Scout is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his religious duties. He respects the beliefs of others. It is important that Scouts recognize the beliefs of other Scouts and respect those beliefs. Duty to God Encampment is an excellent opportunity to learn about some of the different beliefs shared by others. \n\n\n\nThe Council Religious Relations Committee puts together a weekend of camping at Bert Adams Scout Reservation in Covington for the express purpose of learning more about one's Duty to God. This weekend takes place on an annual basis in the fall and enjoys a large participation by many different faiths. \n\n

As you have seen over the last four years at the Expo, this is an event to show your stuff and experience the Scouting that other Troops have to offer.\n\n\n\nOverall there will be hundreds of Scouting activities and exhibits for all to enjoy. This is an event that can be enjoyed with activities for Scouts of all ages from Tigers to Ventures. Make your plans now to come to spend the day. DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Learn about Religious Emblems that Scouts can earn, work on advancement, and have fun in a big wide area game.\n\n\n\nAtlanta Area Council’s [“Duty to God Encampment”](http://www.atlantabsa.org/openrosters/DocDownload.asp?orgkey=1437&id=62857) is open to all Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout. Troops, Venturing Crews, Sea Scout Ships, Varsity Teams and their families.\n\n\n\nWhen you arrive Friday evening, you will have an opportunity to set up your camp and then the leaders of your unit will attend a Crackerbarrel. Saturday, you will awaken to the bugle call and begin the day’s activities with a flag ceremony, and then get oriented to the Religious emblem programs. Just before lunch, there will be wide area games for all Scouts. Following lunch in the campsites, Scouts will work on advancement.\n\n\n\nThere will be opportunities for Scouts of all ages.\n\n\n\nThe Boy Scouts of America is a nonsectarian organization advocating a devout belief in deity. Article IX, Section 1, Clause 1 in the Charter and Bylaws states in part, "The Boy Scouts of America maintains that no boy can grow into the best kind of citizen without recognizing an obligation to God." Youth and adult leaders are encouraged to be faithful in their religious duties.\n\n\n\nThe Scout Law teaches, "A Scout is reverent." A Scout is reverent toward God. \n\n

There are over 35 classes to choose from that range from the beginning leader/Cub Scout parent to Boy Scout leader/veteran Venture Crew advisor. Though any "touch" with these classes will make you sophisticated due to the "worldly education" you will receive; the entire day's event is in an informal and fun setting that let's you learn from other experienced Scout leaders.\n\n\n\nOn November 6th 2010, we will meet at the Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia and for only $8 you will get to choose up to 5 classes and lunch is ALSO INCLUDED! The 2nd Annual Scout Master's Cook Off contest will also be held that you can enter or sample/judge from the sidelines (if you dare). There will be many door prizes throughout the day and plenty of camaraderie with other Scouters.\n\n\n\nSo come out and be "classy" with the rest of your fellow Scouters by signing up today! \n\n\n\nGo to www.atlantabsa.org and look under Training.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Learn about Religious Emblems that Scouts can earn, work on advancement, and have fun in a big wide area game.\n\n\n\nAtlanta Area Council’s is open to all Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout. \n\n
